Introduction

I led a team of 4 UXers on Uverse.com for over 2 years as part of an ongoing client relationship around the U-verse TV service and its responsive mobile version m.uverse.com.

I was also the lead UX on the U-verse TV project for Xbox One and consulted on others, such as Fire TV, Windows 8 and wearables.

Design process

1

The U-verse TV projects I worked on ranged anywhere from a clear-cut waterfall with minimum user research or usability testing to "agi-lean" process with perpetual MVPs developed specifically to learn and iterate from.

2

Whatever the design task, however, I would always start with a thorough immersion into the design problem and employ tools and techniques that will best fit the challenge and the type of project.

3

These typically included problem and outcomes definition, data immersion (web analytics, survey data, etc.), sketching ideation using whiteboards or paper and sharpies six-up method (ideally with all on the dev team).

Achievements

1

During the course of my work on Uverse.com I developed a novel, efficient and cost-effective remote mobile testing platform that proved invaluable for bringing quick real-user insights into the design work involved in the current sprint.

2

Developing a strong culture of “from sketch to prototype" has been the key element in our ability to test ideas quickly and often.

3

The desktop site has been performing above AT&T’s set targets for TV package up-sell and cross-sell. The mobile site has been an even more visible success story, particularly around engagement and CSAT score metrics, the latter now reaching  significantly higher than its desktop counterpart.
